St Bede's school has great pleasure in inviting you to our school production of

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
adapted by Sylvia Ashby

The evening performances are Monday 15th and Tuesday16th June starting at 7pm in The Pilgrim Theatre. The students have been working enormously hard to make this production entertaining and enjoyable and we hope that as many of you as possible will come to support them.

When 10-year-old Mary Lennox loses her parents to a devastating cholera outbreak in India, she is sent 6,000 miles away to live with her inattentive uncle at his foreboding English manor. Like Mary, Andrew Craven knows suffering, having never recovered from the death of his wife, Mary's Aunt Lilia, a decade earlier.
Selfish and spoiled, left mostly on her own, Mary has a difficult time adjusting to the peculiarities of her new home, where it seems as though the spirits of those who have come before her are always just out of sight. That is until the plucky housemaid, Martha, and her brother Dickon, who introduces Mary to the wonders of nature all around her, befriend her. When Mary discovers the locked-away secrets of an abandoned garden, she coaxes far more than its flowers back to life

We would like to remind you that admission to any performance at St Bede's is by ticket only, as part of the school's Health and Safety policy. The allocation of tickets will be organised on a first come first served basis and, as we anticipate a significant response we would encourage you to apply for tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are only available to purchase via Wise pay, priced at £6.50 for adults and £5.50 for concessions. The cost of the tickets covers the purchase of all costumes, props and other drama resources.

Please purchase your tickets by 27th April 2026. After this date tickets will be offered to the whole school. Please note that the limit is 2 adults and 2 children/concession tickets. If you would like more tickets please check availability after the 27th April.

Please confirm with your child which performance they are participating in before purchasing tickets. Tickets are non-transferable between the two nights. We will not be distributing paper tickets but will have a register on the door.

The PTFA will kindly be running a cash refreshments stall before the performances from 6.30pm on both evenings.

Please note that the doors will be closed at 7.00pm. There will be no admittance to the performance after this time.
