As part of the A Level History course, we are running a trip to see a re-enactment of the Battle of
Hastings. This will be a tremendous opportunity for the students to learn 'first hand' about the
battle as well as to experience other aspects of life in the Middle Ages which will enhance their
understanding of the medieval period which we will study this year.
The details are as follows:
Date: Saturday 10 October
Venue: Battle Abbey
Meeting time and place: 9.00 am at School
Transport: School minibus + car
Return time and place: 6.00 pm at School
Students should wear outdoor clothing and be prepared for wet weather(!). Ideally students should
bring a pair of boots/ old trainers to wear around the battle site. They will need to bring food for the
day and may bring spending money.
The cost for this trip will be £25. If you wish your child to participate, please make payment by Wednesday 30 September. If the
voluntary contributions do not cover the cost of the visit it may have to be cancelled.
