Exeter College - HSPS - BURSARY STUDENTS ONLY

HSPS - BURSARY STUDENTS ONLY - Berlin trip 2026

The History Team are planning a trip to Berlin between 14th-18th December 2026. The trip will be of
particular interest to both A-Level and IB students who study Germany and the Cold War. We also
welcome students who study Early Modern History. This trip should be seen as enhancement rather
than an essential for successful completion of the A Level course.

We will be travelling by plane to Berlin and staying in Meininger Hotel Berlin Hauptbahnhof for all
three nights. An up-to-date passport will be needed for all students with at least three months
validity. An EHIC card is useful but not essential.

Our activities for the trip will include; a tour of Berlin (including the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust
memorial, Potsdammer Platz, Alexander Platz, the Cathedral etc), a nighttime visit and roof tour of
the Reichstag, the Stasi prison, a trip to the Stasi museum, a visit to the Berlin Wall Memorial, a visit
to Sachsenhausen and some free time to shop in the Christmas markets. There are also some other
museum visits, such as the DDR Museum and Topography of Terror.
