EAA Fleet Air Arm Museum Yeovilton (Essential Trip)

An essential one day trip to the Fleet Air Arm Museum for students studying on the BTEC National
Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Level 3. During the trip, students will have the opportunity to explore four exhibition halls featuring 90 historic aircraft, as well as witness the conservation project to rebuild the world's only surviving WW2 Barracuda Torpedo Bomber.

In addition, museum staff will deliver an informative talk covering topics such as vintage aircraft conservation techniques and the skills involved in preserving aviation history.

To support curriculum learning, students will encounter key concepts from Unit 48, including aerodynamic design and shape, in a real-world context. This experience is designed to spark curiosity and encourage meaningful discussions about career pathways in engineering, aviation, and conservation.

We believe this trip will be both inspiring and educational, offering students a unique chance to connect classroom learning with practical applications.
