SPONSORED WALK ' THURSDAY 19TH JUNE 2025
On Thursday 19th June, our biennial sponsored walk will take place. This has taken place every two years since 1999, and during that time, we have raised over £100,000 for Chestnut Tree House. We will continue to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House again this year. The walk presents an opportunity for everyone in the school to become actively involved in raising awareness of the hospice, its reliance on charitable donations and offers a chance for students to make a difference to the lives of terminally ill young people.
Chestnut Tree House is the only children's hospice in Sussex, located near Arundel, and cares for the family as well as the child, providing advice, support and importantly a place where parents and siblings can also have quality time together. More information on the charity can be found on www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk. This is an excellent opportunity for the school to make a difference to these children's lives and we therefore hope that the event will prove to be very successful.
£1200 of all funds raised will also be going to Sussex Search and Rescue, who will be supporting us on the walk. Sussex Search and Rescue are a 100% volunteer organisation so rely on the kindness of the public, businesses and other organisations to provide donations.
Ways to pay Sponsorship Money
1. Online Wisepay - A sponsorship form can be completed and money collected. This can then be paid to school via Wisepay rather than the student bringing in cash.

2. Just Giving page ' Sponsors can make payments direct to our Just Giving Page called www.justgiving.com/page/worthing-high-school-7. The QR code for the Just Giving page is on the letter attached.

All sponsorships, on Wisepay or Just Giving, must be logged by students on their sponsorship forms. These will be given to students during the first week back after Easter, and will be collected in after the walk.
The walk will start at school and follow a route over Cissbury Ring and up to Chanctonbury Ring, then returning to Worthing High School. This will cover 12 miles in total and will require a lot of resilience to complete. Students will have assemblies during the week after Easter about what the day will look like, and communications will be sent home with further details.
Our target again this year is £15,000 and if all participants are able to raise £20, we will smash that target. Please support your child in raising monies for these amazing charities.
