A defibrillator is a device that gives a jolt of energy to the heart. It helps get the heart beating again when someone is in cardiac arrest and their heart has stopped. If someone is in cardiac arrest, you can call 999 and start CPR. If you're on your own, do not interrupt CPR to go and find a defibrillator. If it's possible, send someone else to find one. When you call 999, the operator can tell you if there's a public access defibrillator nearby and give you the code to go open the box.
We would like to install a defibrillator on the perimeter of the school, so that the community can access it in an emergency. To do this we need to raise the funds to purchase and install the equipment.
