Dear Parents and Carers,
Social Justice at St Edward's
Christmas Jumper Day & Poole Food Bank Appeal
Each Year we raise money for three charities that are selected by our students. We are currently
supporting The Ocean Ward at Southampton Hospital, Marie Curie and Women for Afghan Women. The
totalraised isthen divided acrossthese charitiesto support their work. Our next fundraising opportunity
will be the final day of term, Friday 20th December, when we have our Christmas Jumper Day.
For those new to the school, we ask students for a voluntary donation of a minimum of £1 and they are
able to wear a Christmas Jumper in the place of their school blazer. Mindful of the rising cost of living, if
students do not have a Christmas jumper, they can wear a regular plain jumper with no logo, hoodies
will not be permitted. The money can be donated via WisePay and students do not need to bring money
into school.
We also hold a collection for Poole Food Bank in the final week of term, aware that this is the time of
greatest demand on theirs ervices all year. If you would like to make a donation towards this please send
in one of the items listed below via the student office before Thursday 19th December.
Items suitable for donation to the Food Bank
• Milk (UHT semi-skimmed)
• Tinned vegetables
• Tinned meal (eg chicken in white
sauce)
• Tinned meat
• Tea or Coffee
• Pasta or Rice
Yours sincerely,
Mr C Farrow
