Lincroft Academy will be applying for the Schools Level 1 Gardening Award from the Royal Horticulture Society. Mr Mythen has begun his plans to re-vamp our Sensory Garden, we currently have strawberries, tomatoes, onions and flowers growing beautifully! Once harvested it can be used in our Food Technology lessons and the seeds can be used to re-grow delicious fruits and vegetables. However, in order to make our application successful we urgently need more vegetables and fruits to fill our raised beds.
As little as £2.50 can provide plants to two raised beds along with four of our larger grow pots. We wish to incorporate our community into this development and keep them updated on how well our garden will bloom.
The sensory garden space will host as a quiet place for students to develop their gardening skills and overall knowledge regarding horticulture. The RHS advocates for students to utilise spaces like this to improve their physical and mental wellbeing alongside their numeracy and teamwork skills.
