National Allergy Awareness Week 22nd - 28th April
Next week will be National Allergy Awareness Week. In the UK, around 20% of the population has at least one allergy e.g. to food.
The sixth form Charity Perfects have put together some resources for form time to increase awareness around allergies and how to support friends who live with allergies. This includes:
• Being considerate when planning social events.
• Asking their friends how they can support them.
• Recognising the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
As well as increasing awareness, the Charity Perfects are also keen to show support to the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. The Foundation was set up following the death of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse following an allergic reaction. More information about the Foundation can be found at https://www.narf.org.uk/
On Friday 26th April all pupils are invited to wear a blue or purple accessory to school to show their support for this cause in exchange for a small donation.
