We are tremendously excited to announce our first FOLMS Race Night, to be held very soon on Friday 22/3/24 at 6pm at the senior school refectory.
All school families are welcome and you may also bring guests. This is a great opportunity to socialise with friends and family in a fun and informal setting, whilst doing our usual fund raising for the children too.
All the family will love the excitement of the night, and we are also delighted to have Curry Jacks bringing their wagon to cater for us, so get on WisePay and choose your dinner too!

What is a Race Night?
Race nights are effectively a small scale lottery often run in a pub or club where pre-recorded horse races (chosen for being particularly entertaining) are shown on a big screen. Each race features 8 horse (or maybe even piglets!) with one of them obviously winning. Before each race the audience can buy "betting tickets" for their chosen horse, each ticket will cost £2.
Your entrance ticket will not only buy you dinner from the fantastic Curry Jacks who are bringing their wagon, but also enter you in to a race to start, with an immediate chance of winning in that race. There will be further opportunities to buy in to later races too.
The kids LOVE these events as they can get really involved and we will also have a bar open with beers, wine and plenty of soft drinks and snacks.
Is A Race Night Gambling?
In short, no. A race night is not gambling, the horse races are simply a means of choosing a random number between 1 and 8. Each horse has the same chance of winning, there is no form and no odds. You do not need a gambling license to run a fundraising race night. For more information see The Gambling Commission website.
