Course Description

Beginners sailing courses work towards the RYA Young Sailor Awards. These are ideal courses designed to build young people's confidence and skills in a fun, progressive and structured way following RYA teaching methods. These beginner courses take place at Haven Banks on the River Exe using Topper sailing dinghies. Price includes RYA Young Sailor Certification for successful candidates. An ideal progression would be one of Haven Banks' Improver Sailing courses which we run on the Exe Estuary during all but the February half-term and Christmas holidays. PLEASE NOTE: This course is for children aged between 8 and 14 years.

The course runs from 9:30 pm to 4:30 pm, with arrival for registration from 9:20 am and collection up until 4:45 pm. We have wetsuits here at the centre that can be used but we recommend bringing a dry change of clothes/shoes for days with wet activities. Please note, footwear must be worn whilst on the water and sandals/flip flops are not suitable. There are water fountains on each floor of the building but children on full-day activities will need to bring a packed lunch and drink/bottle.
