Pupil Planners
We are in the process of phasing out our compulsory use of pupil planners. ShowMyHomework is now the main source of information and resources about homework for pupils, parents and teachers, which has meant planners have become less useful. However, we are aware that many pupils have established good habits using planners and some like a diary to help with their organisation.
Year 7 pupils will be provided with a planner free of charge. They will be expected to write homework in their planners. This is part of our induction programme, to teach pupils good organisational habits.
Pupils in Years 8-11 will also be provided with a planner. Pupils will not be required to write homework in them, but can choose to do so, alongside any other dates, notes and reminders they want or are asked to record. We are asking for a £1 voluntary contribution from parents, please, to subsidise the cost of these planners. This will be available via the only WisePay system or can be paid in cash at the start of the year.
Parents will no longer be asked to sign pupil planners on a weekly basis.
